" In VELÔ (2015), we have a photographic image that shows a bicycle full of moss at the bottom of a river that runs through the city of Bruges (Belgium) in 2001, on which we see a set of blue bubbles moving that were trapped between the various layers of ice near the surface of the river. The bubbles are blue because they reflect the sky. They move across the surface of the image, simulating Brownian movements, random and unpredictable, which never repeat themselves. In fact, the movements sometimes accelerate in some bubbles or groups of bubbles, and sometimes slow down in others. It is curious to note that the movement of the bubbles creates the impression that the image as a whole is in movement. In VELÔ we have a hybrid image, which is and is not a photograph, is and is not a video. Many people feel a kind of vertigo when faced with this type of image that presents different types of layers of information that can, in the end, generate transformations through which the spatiality of time replaces chronological temporality."
