Wood is the main material in Afonso Tostes' work, which usually involves existing objects. In the work created for Carbono, the artist follows a path in his work in which he intervenes in hand tools, sculpting the handles of thirty hammers. He then paints them white, intensifying the relationship he builds between the tool and the extension of human arms and hands, as if these elements were part of our skeletal constitution.
