'Urutu' is an oracle developed by artist Marcela Cantuária based on the instinctive selection of poetic fragments from Brazilian works of literature, poetry, music and visual arts. The choice of these works symbolizes different eras and regions of the country in textual expressions that have become almost part of Brazil's cultural heritage.

Composed of 38 cards/paintings, 'Urutu' works without traditional archetypes, but rather with a blank canvas of possibilities. Just like the snake that "bites in a rush" – as the origin of its name in Tupi-Guarani says – each work offers the opportunity to delve into a universe of feelings and emotions and return with answers to deeper questions, brought by our inner poetry.”

Pedro Garcia de Moura

The multiple "Urutu" is the result of the 6th edition of the “Caixa de Pandora” project, conceived by KURA by Camila Yunes. In it, contemporary artists are invited to engage in dialogue with the Ivani and Jorge Yunes Collection, which brings together works of art from different eras. Artist Marcela Cantuária intervenes in the space with canvases that are part of the “Oráculo Urutu” project, as well as six oratories and a site-specific curtain.
