A cold atmosphere that takes our imagination to places full of ice: perhaps a cave or a mountain. A landscape that still seems quite natural, but has already been reached by man, as can be seen in some of the traces left in the image. Was it only touched or dominated by man? Was it natural or created?
Biography
Albano Afonso
Albano Afonso creates installations and photographs in which he combines photographic prints, sculptures and images projected into space. Through light and movement, a play of perceptions reveals images that explore the constructed space as an illusory part of reality. Understanding light as a pictorial element, he configures different plastic profiles, revisiting classical references from other points of view, creating renewed architectures for the same landscape of light and shadow.
Highlights include solo and group exhibitions held at the Contemporary Arts Center (Cincinnati), the Centro Cultural São Paulo, the Paço das Artes (São Paulo), the OI Futuro (Rio de Janeiro), the Palais des Beaux-Arts (Brussels), the CarpeDiem Arte e Pesquisa (Lisbon), the Invaliden1 Galerie (Berlin), the Espace Beaujon (Paris), as well as the 1st International Photography Biennial of the Museum of Modern Art of São Paulo and the 29th São Paulo Biennial.
