Beth Jobim, as she is known, is a designer, painter and engraver, she studied with Anna Bella Geiger and Eduardo Sued at the beginning of her career, being influenced by these artists and becoming part of the group of painters of the "Generation 80".
His works feature a geometrically structured composition, and the lines and colors extend from the front to the side of the canvas, emphasizing the three-dimensional character of the canvas structure on the frame. In addition, his paintings often unfold into diptychs and triptychs of different depths, which create a spatial fluidity.
Since the 1980s, she has exhibited in solo shows such as "Drawings and Paintings" (1998); "Openings" (2006) and "Blocks" (2013). As well as in group exhibitions such as "How are you, Generation 80?" In June 2013, the artist had her first solo exhibition at MAM-RJ, with the exhibition Blocos. Curated by Luiz Camillo Osorio, the exhibition featured two-meter-high blocks, painted in oil on canvas on wood. “Before, the visitor was surrounded by the work, which occupied the walls. Now the viewer is the one who will surround the work, with his or her body. The difference is that this time the painting does not have the wall to support it”, explains the artist.
The artist presented her solo exhibition, "Arrangement", in April 2016, at Galeria Raquel Arnaud, where she presented three series of recent works. During the exhibition, the artist's book was also launched, with text by Paulo Venâncio Filho and an interview by Taísa Palhares.
