Graduated and with a master's degree in Visual Arts, Yuri Firmeza uses photography as an important instrument for recording his actions. His movements are often captured in sequence and many of his works place the artist's body in contact with nature and architecture. Some of the exhibitions in which he has participated include: "Laços do Olhar" (Tomie Ohtake Institute, 2008); "7th Cali Performance Festival" (2008); "Nano Stockholm" (Artist Space Gallery, 2009); "Confrontações Poéticas" (CCBNB, 2007); "Rumos Artes Visuais" (2006); "Espacios en transito" (Centro Cultural de Bellas Artes de Lima, 2005). In addition, his works are in important collections, such as the Pampulha Art Museum, the Fortaleza Museum of Contemporary Art, the Banco do Nordeste Cultural Center, and the Rio Art Museum.
