Artist Julia Kater’s research is guided by the creation of a body of works that can treat her from the perspective of her visual improbability. Whether through a collage made of different overlapping photographic prints, which announces a sky that watches over us – despite its invisible nature –, or through videos that promote the reorganization of a set of actions and phrases, each work prioritizes, in its own way, the creation of bodies of everyday scenes that suggest simultaneous coexistence with tenacious memory and its clash with forgetfulness, its ally and responsible for the gradual loss of much of the truth that defines life.
His works are present in the collections of important institutions, including the Rio Art Museum, Oscar Niemeyer Museum, Ribeirão Preto Art Museum, UFG Cultural Center, Fundacíon Luis Seoane (La Corunha, Spain), PLMJ Foundation (Lisbon, Portugal), Rencontres Internacionales Paris/Berlin - New Cinema and Contemporary Art (Paris, France).
