Carbono Galeria presents the 30th anniversary edition of the Leonilson Project, bringing together 30 drawings created by the artist for Barbara Gancia's column in Folha de S.Paulo. Selected through an intimate dialogue, the works reveal how Leonilson transformed the everyday into visual thought, between irony, criticism, and poetry. For this edition, the illustrations were carefully reproduced in silkscreen, maintaining the original format and incorporating dry embossing, preserving the delicacy of the lines, gestures, and silences that compose his graphic universe.
The collaboration with the Leonilson Project, an institution that has preserved, researched, and disseminated his work for three decades, reaffirms Carbono's commitment to fundamental artists in Brazilian history. This edition marks an encounter between preservation and reinvention, revisiting drawings created for the newspaper and returning them to the public as a collection, revealing the relevance with which Leonilson interpreted the world—a tribute to the word, humor, and sensitivity that continue to resonate.
