"The 'Basculante' was created as another option for opening a closed space to the open. It allows this opening, although never completely. The basculante is not a door or a window that provides complete passage. In this sense, I see a basculante as a device of my body, of my mind. Thus, the work invites me to reflect on themes that, from this gap, I allow to enter or leave."

Biography

Francisco Nuk - Carbono Galeria

Francisco Nuk

b. 1990, Belo Horizonte (MG), Brazil | Lives and works in Belo Horizonte (MG), Brazil.

Nuk carries with him an artistic background from other generations. From an early age, he was naturally introduced and encouraged to study different artistic expressions. From the Baroque, characteristic of his region of origin, to the contemporary, an expression produced by his parents. As a teenager, he had his first contact with fine carpentry by taking courses in the craft. He spent the beginning of his adulthood traveling and studying the same craft, extensively studying the material and techniques applied. Back in Brazil, he worked in his father's studio producing his works and structuring his own studio. During this period, he was encouraged to be creative and to produce his work, which is expressed through the combination of his origins and lived experiences.
