In the early 1970s, artist Antonio Dias created a book-installation with the same title based on the concrete poem "Galáxias" by Haroldo de Campos (1929-2003). The work was launched at Casa Daros in Rio de Janeiro, accompanied by a conversation with the artist, and at Casa das Rosas in São Paulo.
Forty years and hundreds of prototypes later, the publisher UQ!Editions (Lucia Bertazzo and Leonel Kaz) is producing the edition, which consists of 93 copies, all numbered and signed by the artist. The box, covered in fabric with paintings of galaxies (with different images) and weighing nine kilos, contains ten smaller boxes that, when opened, reveal objects that complement each other, housing 32 pieces in total. The multiple, like Haroldo's long prose poem, is an epic journey through the galaxies, which ultimately resembles an inner search for self-knowledge, both for the painter and the poet.
