The weave of the fine lines presents us with bridges, which are revealed in the play of light and shadow, reinforced by the three colors chosen by the artist. The intensity of the lines makes us think of urban bridges, while their poetic construction dissolves the material and frees our imagination, leading us to follow different paths.
Biography
Marco Giannotti
Marco Giannotti produces mainly paintings, drawings, engravings and photographs. He was a student of Sergio Fingermann, with whom he studied drawing and engraving, and since 1998 he has been a professor at the School of Communication and Arts of the University of São Paulo, where he teaches painting classes. He has participated in two editions of the Mercosul Biennial and Arte Cidade, as well as in several exhibitions in Brazil and abroad, such as at Paço das Artes, the Museum of Modern Art of Rio de Janeiro, the Fundación Museo de Bellas Artes (Caracas), and the Liljevalchs Konsthall (Stockholm). He has received awards from the Salão Nacional de Artes Plásticas of Rio de Janeiro, Funarte, and APCA – Pintura. His works are in prominent collections such as the Pinacoteca do Estado, the Museum of Contemporary Art of São Paulo, the Museum of Art of Niterói, and the Instituto Cultural Itaú.
