The works on display are fragments of the cartography of the city of São Paulo. They are paintings that explore calligraphy and drawing to evoke the memory and identity of the urban territory. The assembly, through the cut-out soils, awakens our imagination to complete the parts of the city according to each person's experience. The fragments, 12 in total, are purchased separately, so that a map can be created with the areas of greatest interest. The work is sent unframed.

Biography

Carla Caffé - Carbono Galeria

Carla Caffé

b. 1965, São Paulo (SP), Brazil | Lives and works in São Paulo (SP), Brazil.

Graduated in architecture, she works with graphic design, art, theater and cinema. She has participated in important group exhibitions such as the X and IV International Architecture Biennial of São Paulo. In the cinema, she works as an art director for feature films, among others: Central do Brasil _ Walter Salles; Bossa Nova _ Bruno Barreto; and Narradores de Javé _ Eliane Caffé.

He was a columnist for the newspaper Folha de S. Paulo and edited "Cidade Nua", a weekly chronicle of drawings of the city. Since then, his research has been on the language of drawing in the representation of the urban landscape, cartography, mapping and geopoetry. Through poetic calculations, drawing recreates a meaning of space, exercising urban memory and strengthening the city's identity among communities, thus enabling the sharing of memories, desires, stories and awakening discoveries of everyday life.

For Agnaldo Farias "...she goes around noting, recording, examining, sketching, sketching, cutting, cutting out, that is, using a large part of the verbs that comprise DRAWING. She represents excerpts of buildings notable for their peculiarities, architectures and situations that, those who live in São Paulo or simply experienced this avenue at some point, perceive as loved, although until that moment most did not know it. The proof of affection is that they will recognize her immediately and, as it happens, they will recognize themselves in this recognition."
